I'm planning a trip to WDW for November/December 2004. Assuming that the Winter Dream Maker Package is available again next year, it has blackout dates for this year of Tues., Wed. and Thurs. (Thanksgiving). We were thinking of arriving on Thanksgiving evening 2004 and staying for 10 nights.

Since we're arriving on a blackout date, will we just have to pay the normal Value Season rate for the first night and get the Winter Dream Maker pkg rate for the other 9 nights?

Hi Tinkerbellfan

First let me say that it is all very speculative as to if and when Disney will release special packages next year. We have seen many great package specials this year because of recent world events causing a slow-down in travel to places like Walt Disney World. I would not count on there being any similar specials next year as you could just be disappointed.

With that being said - the way the packages work is you would have to book the package that applies for the first night of your stay for the entire stay. So let's say the first night of your stay is blocked out for the Winter Dream Maker package then you would have to book the Dream Maker package for the entire length of stay. Of course, there would be ways around this - like booking the Dream Maker package for the first 3-nights of your stay (each package has a 3-night minimum) and then switching to the Winter Dream Maker when it becomes available. This means you would have to make two deposits, and checkout and then check back in again - but I would assume the savings would be worth the minimal hassle.

My advise is to book the dates and resort you want in 2004 now, at the current rate. This way you will secure your room and dates for next year well in advance. Then if a special promotion or discount becomes available your Dreams Unlimited Travel agent can switch to the better pricing automatically - no hassles and no worries. A small deposit holds your reservation and you can always cancel and/or make changes later on.

I hope this helps.

John

Thanks. The information is very helpful.

So, if we make the reservations in 2003, we get 2003 rates?

Hi Again Tinkerbell Fan

Disney is currently booking and pricing 2004 reservations at the 2004 rate.
